Beacon CRE Wire was founded by Connor and Tony, two college students with a shared background at Governors Academy and a strong interest in commercial real estate. As they followed the market, they saw a clear need for a more efficient and reliable way to stay informed. Valuable industry information existed, but it was often fragmented, inconsistent, and time-consuming to navigate.
In response, they created Beacon CRE Wire: a streamlined weekly briefing designed to deliver the commercial real estate news, market insights, and transaction activity that professionals need in a format that is clear, relevant, and easy to digest. Every edition is built with intention, with a focus on helping readers stay informed without unnecessary noise.
While still in its early stages, Beacon CRE Wire is built on a clear long-term vision: to become a trusted source of commercial real estate intelligence for professionals across New England and beyond. Developed from the ground up by two founders who recognized a gap in the market, the platform reflects a commitment to clarity, consistency, and value.
Tony Silva is a student at Cornell University, where he studies Economics and plays baseball. Tony co-founded Beacon CRE Wire with a singular mission: give serious CRE practitioners the deal flow, market intelligence, and news they need — without a paywall. His interest in the New England market and deep respect for the industry drives the Wire's focus on data that actually informs decisions. Tony is based in Boston and has a strong belief that accessible intelligence is the foundation of a healthy, competitive market.
Connor Hennessey is a student at Bates College, where he plays football and brings the same competitive drive to everything he builds. Connor co-founded Beacon CRE Wire alongside Tony, focusing on market research, data strategy, and the deal tracking that powers the weekly newsletter. Raised in Boston with a firsthand view of the commercial real estate industry, Connor brings a research-first approach and a genuine passion for understanding what drives the New England CRE market. He is a Governors Academy alumnus.
During his 30-year career, John Hennessey has provided his clients with diverse and market-leading services, negotiating some of the most notable sale and lease transactions in the industry. John is a Co-Founder and Principal at Thompson Hennessey & Partners, where he focuses on advising and providing strategic solutions for his clients, both locally within the Boston market and globally. A true tenant advisor, John excels at building long-lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships with his clients.
John was previously at Cushman & Wakefield where he was the Co-Managing Director, and at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank where he was the Managing Principal for the New England operations. Over his 30+ year career, John has conducted more than 800 real estate transactions — many of which have been some of Boston's largest and most notable.
John is an active member of the community and has served as a board member for The Home For Little Wanderers and on the board for The Boy Scouts of America. He received his Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University and was recruited to join R.M. Bradley & Co. upon graduation — a market leader in Boston's commercial real estate industry. He has completed five marathons, including two Boston Marathons, and is an accomplished pilot.
